What is 3G?

3G, otherwise called as International Mobile Telecommunications-2000, IMT-2000, or simply the third generation phones, is the word of mouth among young people and business enthusiasts in this cyber world.

A lot of us knew that this technology is featured in our mobile phones (referred to as 3G Mobile Phones) and it definitely has invaluable features. The vital feature of 3G is that it allows new generation cell phones to have wireless service for video calls, internet, and even TV.

In India, BSNL took the initiative to launch 3G at a reasonable rate. And MTNL jumped into the wagon — currently Tata docomo have launched 3G as well. In the year of 2011, Vodafone and Airtel are expected to bring out cheaper 3G services.

This might be typical to common phone units nowadays, but how does this service operate in specific countries like India?
